How do you see an ophthalmoscope?

Hold the ophthalmoscope, still up to your eye, at about arm’s length from the patient.

Shine the light into the patient’s right eye at about 15° from the center of the eye,

and watch for the pupil to shrink.

Then check to see if there is a red reflex.
