How to measure sugar with the Gluco Doctor Blood Glucose device
Wash and dry your hands thoroughly. (Food and other items may cause inaccurate reading)
Make sure the device is turned on
Insert the sugar measuring tape into the device
Prick the side of your fingertip using the needle (prick) supplied with the device
Touch the blood point with the edge of the measuring tape with it fixed
The device will display your blood sugar level on the screen after a few seconds
What is the correct number for measuring sugar?
Before eating in case of fasting for at least 8 hours
Less than 100 for a healthy person (i.e. between 72 – 99)
It should be between 80 – 130 for a diabetic
1-2 hours after eating
Less than 140 for a healthy person
Less than 180 for diabetics
How often should I check my blood sugar?
Most people with type 2 diabetes
only need to check their blood sugar once
or twice a day.
If your blood sugar level is under control,
you may only need to check it a few times a week.
You may test yourself
when you wake up,
before meals, and at bedtime.
